Adding a Local Printer with the Run As Command

One common problem I seem to find is that I would like to do an administrative task on a users workstation but I don’t want to log them out. Well I recenlty came across this problem when installing a local printer on a users workstation. With normal user rights you can only install a Network printer.
First open up your Printers and Faxes window and goto Tool -> Folder Options. Under the general tab the first group is tasks so click the radio button “Use Windows classis folders” and apply the settings. Close the Folder Options window and you should now have a add print button that you can hold down shift with, right click and do a run as to install a local printer.
Hope you enjoyed this very quick post.
