But you can purchase these really nice USB to serial connections that work great. Sometime however when you plug one into a linux computer it will pick an random unused COM port and you don't know which one. Each device has a specific MAC address that is unique to it only and no other device has that address. Most systems allow you to change your MAC address but it is purely software based, it will not changed the burned in address on your card.
